Thanks to the good grounding Joss received at your beginner's class. I can walk him past flocks of sheep now, off the lead, provided I keep talking to him; not bad for a year-old border collie, eh?! ..... Mick Waddilove. Joss

I booked myself and Fudge who is a JRT/Yorkie onto the Loose Lead Walking Class because she had had not training at all - she is 2 and a half and I have had her 8 months - and was very noisy and pully whilst out walking.
I found the course to be very beneficial and the techniques have been really helpful in sorting out the pulling on the lead and her barking at other dogs and people, although not cured has definitely improved and is doing so all the time.
I found the classes really enjoyable and the trainer a wonderful source of information as to why she was behaving the way she was and ways to reverse the behaviour. The training methods were easy to pick up and carry out and I now feel much more confident in my ability to train my dog. I also have a much stronger bond now with Fudge as we spend a lot more time 'working' together.
Although Fudge is not yet 100% obedient when out walking and still has bouts of intense barking at other dogs - I am now able to control her more than I could before and it is improving all the time. I intend to keep up with the training as walking now is so much more enjoyable and less stressful. Many thanks ......Emma and Fudge Fudge

My dog walking friends often make comment on how obedient chip is and say they wish their own dogs could be so well behaved. I always recommend that they contact Paws for some first class dog training, thank you once again.... Katherine

I wanted to let you and Martin know how much Mungo and I enjoyed, and how much we both got out of the recent course. Particular thanks to Martin, for the first four lessons, and you for the final two.
I found the course to be very well structured, with clear steps for progression. The "home work" was useful too. I was particularly impressed with the professionalism - for example, clearly stating the course objectives at the very beginning. This is in marked contrast to some of the others we've been on, which tend to be full of enthusiasm, but not much else. The advice that Martin dispensed was always considered and practical - and appropriate for the different needs of each dog/handler.
We both learned a lot over the course - and, for me, it's given me a lot more confidence, and also helped set expectations, for my first "dog owning" experience. Which, with hindsight, has turned out to be both completely different, and more rewarding, than I ever imagined it would be - even if somewhat daunting at times!
Thanks again, and I look forward to doing another course - when I've worked out what is that we would both benefit most from! I'll not hesitate to recommend you to others,
Cheers, Ian and Mungo. |
First of all I'd like to thank you and Martin for all your help with Bailey. I have really enjoyed the past six weeks and Bailey has loved it too. He is so much better now and its really nice to be able to enjoy taking him for a walk without been worried about him causing trouble! ............ Gemma & Bailey Bailey
